Hull City weighing up summer swoop for Celtic midfielder

Hull City are considering a summer move for Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie, as per a report by the Scottish Sun.

The 23-year-old has been on loan at Aberdeen this season from the Scottish Premier League champions and is being targeted by Championship side Hull City.

It is believed that Aberdeen are keen on signing Christie on a permanent deal as well. He joined them on last in January 2017 and spent the latter part of last season on loan there. They then snapped him up on a season-long loan for this campaign in the summer.

Christie’s contract at Celtic expires at the end of the 2018/19 season meaning he still has a year left on his contract at Celtic Park. He has found it tough to nail down a first-team spot in Brendan Rodgers’ starting eleven, hence why he has left them on loan.

Hull City could be his next career move, if Nigel Adkins gets his man. The Tigers are currently fighting to stay in the Championship after a difficult campaign but should get over the line with the squad they have. It could be a busy summer in East Yorkshire, with both comings and goings.

Christie has played all of his career in Scotland so far and a move to England would be new to him. He started his career at Inverness before Celtic signed him in 2015. He is also a Scotland international will two caps to his name.
