Notts County fans react to defeat against Chesterfield

First half goals from Sid Nelson and Zavon Hines, along with a Kristian Dennis penalty gave Chesterfield a 3-1 victory over Midlands rivals Notts County at the Proact this afternoon.

Nelson converted an Andy Kellett corner in the 16th minute for his first goal in a blue shirt. Hines then doubled the advantage, with his first goal in Spireites colours with a well taken finish in the 39th minute.

Former Town left back Dan Jones then pulled a goal back for the Magpies in the 84th minute, when his free kick from the right flank found it’s way into the far corner.

Dennis then sealed the game for Town, when after Andy Kellett was brought down in the area, he calmly sent Adam Collin the wrong way for his 18th of the campaign.

This defeat has left Notts County 4th in League Two, four points behind promotion rivals Wycombe Wanderers in 3rd. Whereas, Chesterfield become three points closer to escaping the relegation zone with two games in hand on Grimsby Town.

Notts County fans are understandably disappointed and frustrated following this defeat which is a set back in their promotion push.
