Reading FC have sacked Jaap Stam after just one win in eighteen games. They are languishing just above the bottom three in the Championship. Here are five potential candidates for the job-

Andries Ulderink, (6/1 SkyBet)- The Dutchman was the assistant manager to Stam at Reading and he is the early front-runner for the job. He is an experienced coach and has been at the likes of De Graafschap, Go Ahead Eagles, Ajax and Jong Ajax in his career.

Marco Silva, (8/1)- He has been without a job since being sacked by Watford in January. He did decent jobs at Estoril, Sporting Lisbon, Olympiakos and Hull City. It would be some coup by Reading if they got Silva, however it is unlikely for him to drop down to the Championship.

Paul Clement, (8/1)- The 46 year-old is another who is being linked. He was sacked by Swansea City in December, despite keeping them in the Premier League last year. He has also worked at Chelsea, PSG, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid on his sparkling CV.

Phil Parkinson, (10/1)- The current Bolton Wanderers manager has done a great job with the Trotters. He won the League One title with them last season and is doing well with them in the Championship in this campaign. He played over 350 games for Reading in his career but would he swap Bolton for the Royals?

Nigel Pearson, (12/1)- The 54 year-old is an outsider for the Reading job. The former Southampton, Hull City, Leicester City and Derby County boss is currently in charge of Belgian second division side OH Leuven.
