Birmingham City and Bristol City linked with move for Celtic loanee

Sky Bet Championship duo Birmingham City and Bristol City are being linked with summer moves for Dundee goalkeeper Scott Bain according to The Scottish Sun.

The 26-year-old Edinburgh born stopper is currently on loan at Glasgow giants Celtic until the end of the season and is out of contract with his parent club in the summer.

Bain made his Celtic debut in the 3-2 Old Firm derby victory over Rangers at Ibrox last weekend and it is thought that The Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers is considering offering the player a permanent deal at Celtic Park.

As well as Celtic’s interest in the player, it has been reported that both Birmingham City and Bristol City are watching Bain and the keeper could be offered the alternative option of moving south of the border once his contract with Dundee expires on 30 June.

Bain started his career with Aberdeen before the player went on to make over a century of appearances for Alloa Athletic. The keeper has achieved the same feat with Dundee before joining Hibernian on loan in January. That loan deal was cancelled to allow the player to instead move to Celtic on a temporary basis and Bain is providing cover for injured keepers Craig Gordon and Dorus de Vries.
