Bradford City’s hopes of finishing in the Sky Bet League One top six have been dealt a significant blow after they lost 1-0 at home to Wigan Athletic.
The Bantams failed to register a single shot on target during the full 90 minutes but did look set to record a goalless draw until Michael Jacobs won it for The Latics at the death with a strike from close range.
The result leaves Simon Grayson’s men six points off sixth placed side Peterborough United and after the match, fans were less than happy with their side’s performance on Twitter.
Negative tactics…negative result. Wigan were there for the taking tonight… #bcafc

Just shows how toothless we are without Wyke #bcafc

They were there for the taking and we didn’t even have a shot 🤔. Don’t seem to have a clue anymore, worrying. #bcafc

Maybe 👏 Stuart 👏 McCall 👏 wasn't👏 the 👏 problem 👏 and 👏 sacking👏 him 👏 was 👏 a 👏 little 👏 premature. 👏 #bcafc

Wigan playing at walking pace for their big game and we can’t create a chance against them 😂😂 fully deserved. No intention to win at home get what you deserve #bcafc

I think any chances of us finishing the season in the playoffs has gone out the window after another loss tonight #bcafc

Standard of football is worse under Grayson than it was under McCall an the form is no better! Season over if you just play for the 0-0 #bcafc

Negative formation from the off. No recognised striker, no shot on target. Let’s not beat around the bush here, that’s absolutely atrocious #bcafc , season well and truly done. You can have a “battling” side all you like. But when the majority are average, youre stuffed.
