Shrimps sign Goodall

Jim Bentley has added to his Morecambe squad by signing the former Fleetwood, Luton, Chesterfield and Rochdale player, Alan Goodall. The 32 year old has impressed Bentley during pre-season and he has agreed a deal with the club.

Bentley was released by Fleetwood despite being a valuable member of their play off winning side against Burton Albion at Wembley only a couple of months ago.

The Shrimps boss is delighted with this deal: “I have known Alan for a while and he is the perfect player for us.

“He has great experience at this level and can play in several positions in defence or midfield and he is a lad who has fitted perfectly into the squad.”

Goodall said: ” Being from Liverpool I know the gaffer really well and really respect what him and Ken McKenna have done at the club.

“It didn’t take me long to see the dressing room spirit here was something special and I have really enjoyed myself here in pre-season and I really think we have a squad that can do well this season”
