QPR boss thrilled with impressive victory over high flying Villa

Queens Park Rangers manager Ian Holloway says that his side’s 3-1 away win over Aston Villa is “the best birthday present” he could have asked for.

Goals from Ryan Manning, Jake Bidwell and Luke Freeman ensured that the Hoops would be heading back to West London with all three points.

In what was an excellent performance, Ian Holloway’s side were able to restrict Aston Villa’s enthusiasm and energy and managed to get the crowd on their opponent’s backs.

Speaking to local media after the game, Holloway shared his delight over a perfect night for his side:

“It’s the best birthday present I could ask for. Everyone played really well. We were clinical in the first half and executed the game plan perfectly.

“We stayed in the moment in the second half. We defended well and attacked at will. We were first to everything. The third goal was the icing on the cake.

“That’s seven points from nine and it was thoroughly deserved. We’ve beaten a really good team and we’ve done it in some style.

“I’m delighted for the fans, they traveled here on a Tuesday night and were rewarded with a brilliant display. The feeling in that dressing room is something special right now and we need to take the momentum into Saturday.

“I’m upset we switched off from a corner but how can I fault these lads?”

Holloway’s men face a tough trip to Fulham on Saturday, one of the most in form sides in the division. Whereas Aston Villa face a trip to lowly Bolton Wanderers.
