Wolves remain long odds-on to win the league despite poor run

Out of form Sky Bet Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers remain long odds-on to win the division according to the latest odds provided by English Football League sponsors Sky Bet.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have a three-point advantage over nearest challengers Cardiff City in second place although a 4-1 thumping at Aston Villa on Saturday evening left Wolves with just one win in their last five league outings.

Villa themselves have cut the gap on the league leaders to seven points, however English Football League sponsors Sky Bet still expect Wolves to lift the trophy and have the Molineux-based club listed with odds as short as 1/8 to remain at the summit.

Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City side are priced at 7/1 to overtake Wolves, The Bluebirds have a goal difference of six less than their title rivals. Three straight wins in the Sky Bet Championship have left Aston Villa pushing hard for an automatic promotion place, however Steve Bruce’s men are listed at 16/1 to catch the two sides directly above them in the league table.

After equalling a club-record 15-match unbeaten run in the league, Fulham are the form team in the division, if not in the entire country. The Whites are up to fourth but are a point shy of Villa and are 22/1 outsiders to finish on top of the pile.
