Five players Steve Bruce could sign for Aston Villa in the summer

Steve Bruce is working his magic in the Championship once again this season with Aston Villa and he is going for his fourth promotion to the Premier League. Here are five players he could sign for Villa in the summer-

Abel Hernandez- Bruce signed the Uruguayan striker for Hull City in 2014 and he went on to become a key player for him. He scored 22 goals as the Tigers were promoted under Bruce in 2016. With his contract expiring in the summer at Hull, Bruce could be tempted to bring him to Villa Park on a free transfer.

David Meyler- Another Hull City player who is out of contract in the summer. Bruce has managed the Republic of Ireland international at both Sunderland and Hull and knows him well. He is a free agent at the end of the season after recently confirming he will not be offered a new contract.

Shane Long- The Southampton striker has struggled for goals over the past couple of seasons and may need a change of club to rekindle his career. Bruce signed him for Hull from West Brom and he could be a potential target for him should Villa get promoted.

Mo Diame- Bruce has gone for players at Villa who he has worked with in the past such as Robert Snodgrass and Ahmed Elmohamady. Diame played for Bruce at Hull as well and scored the goal to get them promoted in the 2016 Play-Off final against Sheffield Wednesday. He is now at Newcastle United but is another possible transfer target for Bruce.

Nick Powell- The talented midfielder was linked with Villa in January and has been in fine form for Wigan Athletic in League One this season. Bruce signed him on loan for Hull from Manchester United in January 2017 and could move for him again in the summer.
