WEATHER: Further Sky Bet Championship games postponed

The ‘Beast from the East’ has continued to batter the UK with snow and freezing conditions posing a real threat to this weekend’s Sky Bet Championship fixtures.

One of Saturday’s matches was postponed on Thursday while three further fixtures have fallen foul of the weather today leaving just eight games to win the battle with the elements.

Ahead of the weekend schedule, The72 will be providing updates on postponements, pitch inspections and games declared on. Friday’s update can be viewed below (all fixtures scheduled for Saturday unless stated):-

Aston Villa v QPR – Currently no concerns

Barnsley v Norwich City – Postponed due to safety concerns

Bolton Wanderers v Preston North End – Pitch cleared of snow, game set to go ahead

Brentford v Cardiff City – Postponed due to a frozen pitch

Bristol City v Sheffield Wednesday – Match to go ahead

Derby County v Fulham – Game on! Inspection passed

Ipswich Town v Hull City – Postponed due to safety concerns

Millwall v Sunderland (The72’s feature match) – Match expected to go ahead

Nottingham Forest v Birmingham City – Pitch has been cleared of snow, the club are hopeful that the match will be on

Sheffield United v Burton Albion – Postponed due to safety concerns

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Reading – Game expected to go ahead should there be no continuous heavy snowfall
