Reactions from the Madejski Stadium as Reading and Derby County stage six goal thriller

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson had said the game had everything a fan could want but was frustrated that they conceded so many goals.

He told the club website: “It was quite a hectic game and it’s not good to concede that many goals, but we showed character to at least get a point and were unlucky not to squeeze the fourth goal in at the end.”

“With where we are in the league now, it is so important to that we stick together and I thought we did so today.”

“Obviously, everyone in the team was frustrated that we conceded that many goals, but it takes character to come back into the game and, in the end, we put a lot of pressure on them.”

“We just need to keep going and keep grinding those results so that hopefully we can get more than just one point in the next game.”

“We can praise Liam Kelly for that wonderful goal. He’s done that in training as well, so we know he has a great strike in threatening positions.”

“What was positive today was that we responded well when we had a goal in our faces. We faced the adversity in the game quite well and kept going to get at least something from the game.”

“In the dressing room at the end, there was a feeling of disappointment that we didn’t get more than just the one point, but we can be positive about the performance at least.”

“When I scored the third goal, everyone in the team was thinking let’s get that fourth, and we kept on pushing.”

“Derby got a red card, so we knew it would have been a more open game for us to go and inflict pressure on them.”

“We were close at times to a winner, but in the end, we can be positive about how we played and to get a point against a good side.”
