Leeds head coach Paul Heckingbottom was delighted for everyone involved with the club after he claimed his first win since becoming their manager.
He told the club website: “I’m delighted with the win, it has been a long time coming for lots of people,”
“There are people who have been waiting longer than me for that, so it is a reward for everyone, following the hard work of the players.”
“I thought we relied on our work without the ball, which is pleasing because that is what we have been working on.”
“To be successful in this league, you have to be able to win games like that and perform well against good football sides.”
“If we had have got the second goal, which we probably deserved earlier on in the second half, it would have made the game easier for us.”
“We had opportunities where we didn’t have the final ball or didn’t get the shot off to test the goalkeeper, but that is how it goes.”
“You can’t guarantee the second or third goal, but if it is a game like that against good sides, you know you are going to have to fall back on hard work and discipline, which we did.”
