Hull City beat fellow Yorkshire side Sheffield United on Friday at the KCOM Stadium courtesy of a second-half goal from Nouha Dicko.
The Tigers earned a valuable three points in a game overshadowed by their fans protesting against their owners, the Allams. They took part in a protest march before the game, threw yellow stress balls onto the pitch and blew whistles throughout the game.
You can’t blame the Hull fans for protesting due to their poor treatment by the Allams. However, many Sheffield United fans were furious that the protests disrupted the game. Here are how some Blades fans reacted to the Hull City fans’ protests on twitter-

Scrappy half so far, complete with sponge balls and two min delay. Hull edged it so far as Blades fans sing: 'You're going down with the Wednesday.' #hcafc #twitterblades

So those whistles are nothing but a shameless attempt to cheat. If they were protests they’d continue when Hull attack. The #hullcityfc fans should be embarrassed #twitterblades #sufc

Just back. Some thoughts. Blackman & at times Baldock & Sharp apart, everyone was off it. Hull deserved it. But we made them look good. Their fans forgot to protest when they were winning. It wasn’t worth travelling over 1000 miles for* #sufc
*i was flying back today whatever

Bizarre night at Hull. Toxic atmosphere at times, match disrupted by sponge tennis balls and constant whistling and fans allowed to carry an Allam Out banner into a live TV interview #hcafc #sufc

At least both sets of fans re-united in support of Ryan Mason, who was forced to retire last week at the age of just 26-
#sufc fans join their Hull counterparts in applauding Ryan Mason onto the field, to say goodbye after sadly being forced to retire from football aged just 26. #twitterblades
