Alex Marrow leaves Blackburn

After mutually agreeing the departure of DJ Campbell, Dickson Etuhu  and David Goodwillie, Alex Marrow has become the latest Blackburn player to leave the club.

The midfielder, who was re-signed by Blackburn at the start of this season from Crystal Palace after two and a half years away from the club, only featured three times for the Championship outfit last season, and was sent out on loan to Fleetwood Town for the second half of the season, where he made seven appearances and scored just the once.

He made his debut in the 1-1 draw against Derby County where he gave away the penalty that led to the Derby goal. He then played in the Capital One Cup penalty defeat to Carlisle United and the 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest, and then did not feature again. Marrow fell behind the likes of Tom Cairney, Corry Evans, Jason Lowe and Lee Williamson, and was unable to reinstate himself in the team.

With only Leon Best and Jordan Slew left on the transfer list for Blackburn, which included the likes of Marrow, Campbell, Etuhu and Goodwillie, Blackburn manager Gary Bowyer is seemingly getting closer to having his perfect squad for the upcoming Championship season.
