Bolton head coach Phil Parkinson dwelled on a poor first half which would go on to cost them the game.
He told the club website: We’re disappointed with the first half. All the basic things you need to do at a place like Cardiff we didn’t do as well as we needed to. We were better in the second half and restored some pride.
Cardiff are a strong team, especially on their home patch. It was a difficult game for us tonight.
We’re disappointed not to get something from the game. We need to dust ourselves down, regroup and get ready for the weekend.
