Burton Albion head coach Nigel Clough has said his team played brilliantly in this game and deserved to get all three points.

He told the club website: “We were brilliant at Aston Villa last week as well and it’s frustrating to play that well away from home twice and only get one point.”

“We deserve more than that and especially today. We are not playing like a team who are bottom of the table.”

“The Reading game was a watershed moment for us and we won’t be that poor again. We are now going to try and play as well as we have done against Aston Villa and Ipswich. We will try and play good football, get forward and create chances and what will be will be. If it’s enough, it’s enough but if not at least we are going to try and play like we have done today.”

“Hopefully the players can still have a smile on their faces, try and play football and believe we can do it. We all believe we can do it. We need a break and someone to get a goal in performances like today.”

“I thought the three in the centre of midfield today controlled the game and that’s where we got the platform to play as we did.”

“There were two chances that stood out – Darren Bent going clear and in the 89th minute where their goalkeeper made a magnificent save and that stops us getting the three points.”

“We still have 15 games to go and the last two performances give us a lot of reason for optimism.”
