Derby County are interested in a late deal for Chelsea attacking midfielder Kasey Palmer, according to HITC sport.
Palmer has spent the first half of the season on loan at Premier League strugglers Huddersfield Town but saw his loan spell cut shot due to a failure to nail down a regular first team spot.
A number of other Championship clubs have expressed an interest in taking Palmer on loan this month, with Birmingham City, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United and Norwich City all reported to be keen on a temporary deal.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is happy to let Palmer leave the club before the 11pm deadline, with the 21-year old behind a number of players in the pecking order. Eden Hazard, Pedro, Willian and Cesc Fabregas are amongst a host of players ahead of Palmer.
Derby manager Gary Rowett is keen on strengthening the creative aspect of his side today, and he sees Palmer as someone who can add both goals and assists to his side.
The Rams have allowed striker Chris Martin to leave the club today, with the 29-year old joining Reading on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Palmer has never made an appearance for the Chelsea first time follow his arrival from Charlton Athletic as a sixteen year old.
He joined Huddersfield in the summer of 2016 on a season long loan deal and was part of the side which won promotion to the Premier League. He scored four goals during his time at the Terriers.
Palmer is one of two players who could join Derby before the transfer window draws to a close, with Sunderland goalkeeper Jason Steele on the verge of joining the club.
