Walsall closing in on loan signing of Arsenal defender

Walsall are closing in on signing Arsenal’s Krystian Bielik on loan according to a report from Football Insider.

The 20-year-old defender, who has been capped by the Poland U19s twice, is a highly rated defender in Arsenal’s academy but has been struggling with injury over the last few months. He has been out for three months before he had to go under shoulder surgery which means his development has been halted for a while, something that quickly needs to be rectified if he wants a chance of breaking into the Arsenal first team.

And so Bielik is set to go out on loan to get some first team action that will help him get back to full pace. And it is Walsall who are close to wrapping up a deal to sign him. While several teams from across the EFL were hoping to sign him, it is the Saddlers who have taken the lead in this race and have agreed a deal in principle that will see the player head to the West Midlands until the end of this season.

Walsall fans can be very excited about this signing as he has proved that he can compete in a higher division that Sky Bet League One. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Birmingham City and he was a key player in them avoiding the drop to League One. There were murmurings that the Blues would try to bring Bielik back but that would not happen. Instead he will be heading to a different side in the West Midlands.
