Nottingham Forest winger set for loan move to Millwall

Nottingham Forest winger Jamie Ward is set for a loan move to Millwall, according to the Nottingham Post.

The Northern Ireland international has found his chances hard to come by at the City Ground this season and is expected to conclude a loan move to Millwall before the transfer deadline on Wednesday.

Millwall have been busy over the past couple of days in the transfer market having signed Tim Cahill and Harry Toffolo. Neil Harris has been on the look out for players who can bolster his squad and help him cement his sides position in the Championship.

Jamie Ward looks to be the next player through the door at the Den. The 31 year-old is a vastly experienced winger, who has made over 400 career appearances.

His career at Nottingham Forest has been coming to an end for a while now. He spent the first half of last season on loan at Burton Albion before returning to the Reds in January. He fought his way back into the team under Mark Warburton but is believed to not be a part of their new boss Aitor Karanka’s plans.

Ward will be decent signing for Millwall. He has previously played for Aston Villa, Torquay United, Chesterfield, Sheffield United, Derby County and Burton. His experience of the Championship will be vital for Milwall for the rest of this season.

It is a race against time for the Lions to get this deal done before the transfer deadline but it should be done with both clubs eager to push it through.
