Sheffield Wednesday fans are excited at the opportunity at potentially facing their former head coach Carlos Carvalhal in the next round of the FA Cup.
The Owls booked their passage to the Fifth Round of the FA Cup when they beat Reading 3-1 on Friday night and it was hoped that they would get a big draw against the likes of Manchester United. They would not get that though as they would end up with a home match against either Notts County or Swansea City. The Magpies caused a shock when they held Swansea at home and the replay is set to be played on the 6th February.
While the draw was initially dismissed as being rather dull, many remembered that Swansea’s new manager was Wednesday’s boss not so long ago. Carvalhal had been the head coach of Wednesday for two-and-a-half years before a poor run of form saw him depart on Christmas Eve. In a move that shocked many, he was quickly appointed as the new manager of Swansea and has been doing well as they battle against relegation from the Premier League.
While some fans are still angry with Carvalhal as the first half of this season meant they were more likely to get relegated than promoted this season, many are excited that they could potentially get to face him in the next round. However it is not a sure thing that the Portuguese will be making a return just yet as he has a replay against Notts County to go through first.

Hopefully Chansiri will price it to get bums on seats 👍 Will be a good atmosphere if tickets are sensibly priced. Luckily we already know that Carlos can't win at Hillsborough this season 😂😂😂🙈#swfc #wawaw
