Young Gunners midfielder joins Stevenage on loan

Young Arsenal midfielder Ben Sheaf has joined Sky Bet League Two outfit Stevenage on loan for the remainder of the season according to Boro’s official website.

The 19-year-old Dartford born midfielder is being tipped for a big future in the game after coming through the academy system at the North London club.

It has been reported that Sheaf will spend the first loan spell of his career at Sky Bet League Two club Stevenage. Boro are currently in mid-table after a solid first half of the season and the youngster’s move to Broadhall Way should provide him with plenty of opportunities to increase his first team playing experience.

Sheaf has regularly represented parent club Arsenal at both under-18 and under-23 levels in recent times. The player was handed his senior debut for The Gunners in October as a late substitute in Arsenal’s 1-0 UEFA Europa League victory over Red Star Belgrade. The youngster has since been handed one further first team outing in the EFL Cup.

The midfielder has represented England up to under-18 level and regular football during his time with Stevenage could help the player push for further international honours.

Sheaf could make his debut for Stevenage when they take on Chesterfield at the Proact Stadium in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday.
