Hull City are still hopeful of completing a deal for Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna, according to the Hull Daily Mail.
Hull boss Nigel Adkins has said he is still hopeful that the Tigers can complete a deal for the 21 year-old before the transfer window slams shut on Wednesday
Hull have yet to sign anyone this month but have been trying to lure McKenna to East Yorkshire for a while now. They have seen three bids rejected by Aberdeen for his services but are expected to try again and will be hoping that their persistence pays off.
The Tigers have been very quiet so far this month and rumours have been limited. They have been distantly linked with Ross County’s Jason Naismith, Scunthorpe United’s Hakeeb Adelakun and most recently Rangers midfielder Josh Windass. However, it is the McKenna rumour which has been the most persistent.
The 21 year-old is being tipped for a big future by Aberdeen and has broken into their first-team this season. Hull’s chances of signing him could be handed a boost if the Scottish Premier League side sign Hamilton centre-back Michael Devlin, who they are reportedly close to buying.
Hull have struggled so far this season in the Championship and are in desperate need of some new signings to bolster their ranks. They are above the relegation zone on goal difference and fans are becoming increasingly restless at the lack of transfer activity.
Hull will be hoping they can ease their relegation fears by landing Scott McKenna and strengthen their defence.
