Sheffield United want to sign Charlton Athletic winger Ricky Holmes, according to London News Online.
The League One midfielder is also keen on a move to Bramhall Lane and Chris Wilder wants to re-unite with the man he managed at Northampton Town.
Sheffield United have been very busy in this transfer window and have already signed 3 players. They have signed Ryan Leonard from Southend United, Lee Evans from Wolves and James Wilson on loan from Manchester United.
Chris Wilder has been bolstering his squad who are just on the outskirts of the Play-Offs at the moment. He wants to make Ricky Holmes his 4th signing of the transfer window as he looks to add another attacking option to his side to help with his promotion push.
Holmes has arguably been Charlton Athletic’s best player for the past year and a half. He scored 13 goals for the Addicks last season and has chipped in with another 6 so far this campaign. The 30 year-old was linked with a move away in the summer but remained with the League One side.
He has never played in the Championship before but Wilder obviously believes he is capable of the step up. He has previously played for Chelmsford, Barnet, Portsmouth, Northampton and now Charlton.
Sheffield United could be his next move if Wilder gets his man. This window has been exciting for Blades fans with plenty of new signings and rumours going around. They have added some decent players to their squad so far and more could still be on the way.
