Derby County defender Max Lowe has joined Sky Bet League One side Shrewsbury Town on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old had broken into the first team last season, but injury has restricted him to limited game time this season.
The left back has not played for the Rams this season, but he featured 12 times during the 2016/17 campaign for Gary Rowett’s side.
Lowe has played in six matches for Darren Wassall’s Under 23s side this term, which has included appearances against Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Rowett’s side have been in great form this season and the recent performances of Craig Forsyth and Chris Baird has limited Lowe’s first team chances.
The young full-back has represented England on a number of occasions at youth level, with a total of 21 caps for the Three Lions’ Under 16s, 17s, 18s and 20s sides combined.
The Shrews are currently second in the League One table and just two points behind league leaders Wigan Athletic.
Lowe will be joining an already sold defence, who have only conceded 15 times in their 25 league matches this season.
However, the left-sided defender is lacking in first team football; having not played for Derby since their 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers back in February.
Paul Hurst’s side are next in action on Sunday at New Meadow, where they will take on Premier League outfit West Ham United in the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup. Lowe will be eligible for the match and could make his debut for Salop at the weekend.
