Bolton Wanderers one of four clubs chasing Plymouth Argyle ace

Bolton Wanderers are thought to be one of four clubs chasing the signing of Plymouth Argyle midfielder Toumani Diagouraga according to The Plymouth Herald.

The 30-year-old Paris born talismanic midfielder joined Argyle on a short-term deal in August which is set to expire this month.

The Pilgrims are said to have offered the player the prospect of long-term security at Home Park however with Diagouraga’s family still living in West Yorkshire, the midfielder could look for a move north. It has now been reported that Sky Bet Championship club Bolton Wanderers have offered a contract to the tough-tackling Frenchman while three Sky Bet League One clubs are also tracking the player.

With Bolton Wanderers having benefitted from some improved form in recent weeks, The Trotters boss Phil Parkinson has recently spoken of his desire to strengthen his squad, with the signing of a midfielder believed to feature on his wanted list.

Argyle ace Diagouraga has made 16 appearances in all competitions for The Pilgrims this season and has scored two goals. The player had been frozen out at former club Leeds United prior to his move to Home Park after falling out of favour with The Whites.

Signing Diagouraga on a long-term basis would be a real coup for Argyle with the midfielder having bags of experience in the second and third tiers of English football. The player was a Sky Bet League One promotion winner with former club Brentford in 2013/2014 while he has played his football in the Sky Bet Championship ever since.
