Norwich City’s highly rated young midfielder Ben Godfrey has agreed to extend his loan deal with Sky Bet League One club Shrewsbury Town until the end of the season according to The Shrews’ official website.

The 19-year-old York born midfield ace initially joined the Shropshire club on loan until 1 January 2018 however both clubs have agreed to extend the arrangement until the end of the current campaign with the youngster having thrived in the third tier of English football.

Godfrey has made 24 appearances in all competitions for Shrewsbury Town and has played his part in the club’s shock promotion challenge. The youngster’s performances have been so good that a number of English Premier League scouts have travelled to New Meadow to watch him in action this term.

The midfielder started his career with York City after failing to make the grade as a young boy with Middlesbrough and Godfrey went on to make 15 senior appearances for The Minstermen in which he scored one goal. The player joined current club Norwich City in January 2016 for an undisclosed fee and Godfrey enjoyed six first team outings for The Canaries last season while he scored his first goal for his new club in a 6-1 EFL Cup victory over Coventry City at Carrow Road.
