Norwich City target January move for Shrewsbury Town midfielder

Championship side Norwich City are interested in a move for Shrewsbury Town midfielder Jon Nolan, as per a report by the Eastern Daily Express.

The central midfielder has impressed for the League One side and has helped them defy the odds by getting to second in the league.

The 25 year-old only joined the Shrews in the summer from League Two side Chesterfield, but is already being linked with a move away just 6 months into his Shrewsbury career. He has notched in with 5 goals this season so far for Paul Hurst’s side.

He came up through the Everton academy but did not make the step up to their first-team and left in 2011 to join Stockport County. After two years with the non-league side, he joined Lincoln City, where he stayed until January 2016 and had a season-long loan at Wrexham in between.

He joined Grimsby Town in January 2016 and helped them gain promotion to League Two in his first season. He then joined Chesterfield after just 4 months with Grimsby.

After just a season with Chesterfield in which they were relegated from League One, Nolan reunited with Paul Hurst, of whom he was managed by at Grimsby, and joined Shrewsbury. He has not looked back since and is now being linked with the likes of Norwich City.

Despite being only 25, Nolan has already played for 6 clubs in the space of 6 years. He could be on the move yet again in January if Norwich City and Daniel Farke come calling. This is certainly a story to keep an eye on.
