Goalkeeper
Chris Neal (Port Vale)
This might raise a few eye brows but every time he’s played against my side Rotherham United he’s had an inspired game. Excellent shot stopper and if he can find consistency he could make the step up.
Defender
Dean Lewington (MK Dons)
A loyal servant and a consistent performer. Lewington is the Don’s record appearance holder with 428 games for the club. One of the first names on the team sheet and one of the most reliable defenders in the lower leagues. Lewington is more than capable of playing in the Championship.
Midfielder
Neil Kilkenny (Preston North End)
Has experience of playing in the Championship and will be determined to get back there. He’s a good tackler and an excellent passer of the ball. He’d be a valuable asset for most Championship sides.
Wide Midfielder
Luke Freeman (Bristol City)
A shining light in Stevenage’s relegation side of last season. He’s an excellent winger with fantastic ability on the ball. He’s a brilliant crosser of the ball and pops up with the odd stunner. He has a great chance of reaching the Championship with Bristol City this season.
Striker
Sam Baldock (Bristol City)
It didn’t quite work out for Baldock after his move to West Ham United. But since then he has rejuvenated his career with Bristol City with 34 goals in 79 appearances. His pace, movement and eye for goal gives him all the attributes of a Championship striker. Like Freeman he has a great chance of having another crack at the Championship with Bristol City.
