Birmingham City, PNE and Forest target could join Celtic next month

Glasgow giants Celtic are becoming more and more interested in signing Birmingham City, Preston North End and Nottingham Forest target Lewis Morgan during next month’s transfer window according to the Daily Record.

The 21-year-old Greenock born midfielder is being monitored by the Sky Bet Championship trio after some hugely impressive performances for Scottish Championship promotion hopefuls St Mirren.

Morgan is out of contract in the summer and with the player yet to sign a new deal at the Paisley 2021 Stadium, it  is believed that St Mirren could be forced to cash in on their star in January rather than risk losing the midfielder in the summer for a tribunal fee.

Birmingham City, Preston North End and Nottingham Forest could all make six-figure transfer offers for Morgan during the upcoming transfer window however the trio’s hopes of signing the player look to be decreasing with Celtic hoping to tempt the youngster to Celtic Park.

Morgan started his career on the other side of Glasgow with Rangers but the midfielder failed to make the grade at Ibrox and moved to current club St Mirren. The player has gone on to make 97 appearances for The Buddies while he has scored 21 goals for the club. Morgan incidentally made his senior footballing debut against Celtic in September 2014.
