Wolves plotting ambitious bid for prolific Feyenoord striker in January

Wolves are plotting a bid for Feyenoord striker Nicolai Jørgensen in January, as per a report by the Birmingham Mail.

The 26 year-old striker will be on the plane to Russia in the Summer having just helped Denmark qualify for the World Cup in their Play-Off against the Republic of Ireland. He has been in fine form for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie and is being linked with a move to the Championship leaders Wolves.

Wolves are heavily backed financially and will no doubt have a lot of money to spend in January. They have the ability to attract big names, like Ruben Neves in the summer from Porto, and will be hoping they can lure Nicolai Jørgensen from Holland.

Jørgensen kick-started his career with Danish side Akademisk Boldklub in 2008 before being spotted by German side Bayer Leverkusen in 2010. However, he struggled to establish himself for Leverkusen and was loaned out to FC Kaiserslautern before joing FC Copenhagen on a permanent deal.

It was with Copenhagen where Jørgensen’s career took off. He scored 51 goals in his four seasons there, winning the Danish League and Cup both on two occasions. In the Summer of 2016, Dutch giants Feyenoord signed him. He scored 21 goals for them last season and helped them win the Eredivisie title.

He has started this season well too and is now being linked with a move away. Jørgensen has scored goals in Denmark and in Holland so it will be interesting to see if he can do it in England. This would be an impressive signing if Wolves can pull it off.
