Derby County still full of confidence despite Reading loss

Derby County’s Sam Winnall told the club website that they are still full of confidence despite losing to Reading before the international break.

Before the international break, the Rams were picking up some form by winning four games in a row. However they were unable to go into this week’s rest with that run intact because they were shocked by Reading with the struggling team beating them 4-2.

Now the team are back from the international break and are preparing for a trip to Fulham. Some fans may be worried that their team might have been a bit rattled after losing a game that they should have won, but Winnall has said the team still thinks they can win every game and are still ready to go for it when the face the Cottagers next weekend. The on-loan striker was a big reason for Derby doing so well before the break and he is ready to get back out there this weekend.

He said: “I think everybody was disappointed after Reading because we were on really good form, but we just didn’t seem to turn up on the day.

“It wasn’t good enough and I think we all knew that, we all went home knowing that our performance wasn’t up to the standards that we expect.

“We weren’t at the races, it wasn’t our best performance and now it’s all about turning it around, our confidence is still there. It hasn’t dented our confidence because we’ve just won four on the bounce.”
