Middlesbrough have grabbed the local bragging rights after beating local rivals Sunderland 1-0 at The Riverside Stadium on Sunday lunchtime.
Marcus Tavernier grabbed the game’s only goal early in the match as Boro recorded a third straight victory in the Sky Bet Championship.
The result moves Garry Monk’s side up to fifth in the league table and after the match, fans took to Twitter to give their views on both the result and performance.
Braithwaite was immense today! Ayala back to his best and Randolph outstanding! Not a great game but to win bad is a good sign! #UTB

Still not completely convinced, but you can't argue with 9 points from the last 3. International break has come at the wrong time! #utb

It's all about streaks in the Champo & we're currently on one. Glad Monk is silencing the bedwetters, if only for a little while! #UTB 🔴⚪️

Wasn't pretty, wasn't exciting, but 3 points and a clean sheet against a local rival, these are the games that really count in the end #UTB
