Brentford’s Nico Yennaris has said on Twitter that he is getting better after being knocked out in their 3-2 win over Preston North End.
At the start of the game, it seemed like Yennaris was going to have a good day. He was the person who put the Bees ahead, though the scores would be levelled when Sean Maguire finished from 15 yards. But shortly after that goal, Yennaris was knocked out in a collision with Jordan Hugill, one which many thought that the Preston striker should have been sent off for. He would then be stretchered off and miss the rest of the match.
Luckily, Brentford were able to cope without Yennaris and would end up winning 3-2 with goals from Romaine Sawyers and Ollie Watkins cancelling out a strike from Tom Barkhuizen. And fans who were concerned about Yennaris after that blow can relax as the man himself says he is recovering nicely following that massive hit.
He said: “Thanks for all the messages from both sets of supporters yesterday,”
“I’m feeling better today. Buzzing for the boys to get the three points!”

Now the question will be whether Yennaris will be ready for Brentford’s next match against Birmingham City on 1st November. With there only being a short amount of time before that game takes place, it might be tough for the former Arsenal man to get back for it. If he does miss out on that match, he will have to look for next Saturday’s match against Leeds United.
