Hull suffered relegation from the Premier League last time around, and in doing so dipped in to the transfer market hoping to secure a quick return to the big leagues. They kept some of their more influential players, admittedly losing some of their others, but they were active in the transfer market nonetheless.
Players such as attacking midfielder Jon Toral, once of Barcelona, was signed from Arsenal (£3 million), striker Nouha Dicko from Wolves (£3.4 million) and defensive midfielder Kevin Stewart from Liverpool (£4 million) – these adding strength to a decent squad.
Additionally loan players such as Chelsea trio Fikayo Tomori, Michael Hector and Ola Aina, were joined by free transfers such as Sebastian Larsen and Frazier Campbell as the Tigers rounded out their squad.
