Leeds United enjoyed a rest over the weekend with the international break but a couple of their players were in action on international duty in Stuart Dallas and Pontus Jansson.
Stuart Dallas featured for Northern Ireland in both of their qualifying matches for next-years World Cup, Northern Ireland secured a place in the knock-out rounds for the World Cup at the very least with a 2-0 win over Czech Republic and a 3-0 win over San Marino. Dallas featured on both occasions and will be likely to return to Elland Road in a buoyant mood for the Whites games against Burton Albion this weekend.
Pontus Jansson was an unused substitute in both of Sweden’s international qualifiers after earning a call-up to their international side. Sweden managed to pick up a 4-0 victory over Belarus last night but unfortunately stumbled on Thursday against Bulgaria in a game in which they lost 3-2. Sweden currently lie in second place in Group A and still have a chance of qualifying for the World Cup next year.
The Whites look towards Saturday now with a game against Burton Albion at Elland Road where Leeds are still searching for their first home win of the season in the Championship.
