Jordan Rhodes has committed his future to Blackburn Rovers today, by signing a new 5 year deal.

After two campaigns with Blackburn, where he has scored 52 goals in 96 games, Rhodes was one of many Championship strikers touted as being linked with a move away. Norwich expressed a firm interest in him, whilst many other Premier League clubs were looking at the possibility of taking Rhodes on. The asking price of £10 million may have been the stumbling block for some clubs but having a striker who can score goals is a fundamental factor in either getting promoted or staying afloat.

The agreeing of a new deal will be welcome news to fans of Blackburn Rovers, with many fans suggesting that Rhodes staying is as important as any new signing that may occur this season.
