Ipswich on Parr

Ipswich have confirmed the signing of Norwegian defender Jonathan Parr on a free transfer after Premier League Crystal Palace released him, BBC news confirms.

Parr 25, enjoyed 92 appearances for Crystal Palace in which he scored two goals. Parr enjoyed solid Championship seasons with Palace in which he consistently hit the high 30’s in terms of his appearances for the club. When he first made the start to the 2013/14 season he actually did not feature until December due to injury problems and after only making 14 appearances throughout the entire season, he was deemed surplus to requirements at the end of the campaign by manager Tony Pulis.

He now joins Ipswich who had a vacant left-back position since Aaron Cresswell departed to West Ham United and is likely to take the left-back spot at the club as his regular spot for the team.

Parr is reportedly keen on the club gaining a top six finish in the upcoming Championship season, this could target a potential return to the Premier League to see his former employers should they still be in the league.
