Sky Sports earlier confirmed that Sunderland’s ex-goalkeeper Keiren Westwood has signed for Sheffield Wednesday. The goalkeeper made ten Premier League appearances this season for the Black Cats and enjoyed a 3-year stint with the north eastern club.
The shot-stopper spent spells at Carlisle and Coventry previous to joining the Premier League club and is now 29 years old. He has made 16 international appearances as well for the Republic of Ireland during his career and adds a wealth of experience to The Owls.
He also enjoyed his youth career with current Premier League champions Manchester City. He is not the first bit of business done between Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday after Connor Wickham enjoyed a brief loan spell at the club last season.
