Aston Villa massive favourites to sign West Ham United winger though Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough still linked

Aston Villa are the massive favourites to sign West Ham United’s Robert Snodgrass according to Sky Bet though Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough are still linked.

The 29-year-old winger only signed for the Hammers during the January transfer window and after his good form for previous club Hull City, the £10.6m move was seen as a good one at the time. But he failed to make much of an impact while at the London Stadium, not even scoring once in his 15 appearances at the club. And West Ham are already willing to cut their losses on the player and have been looking to sell him this summer.

And if the bookies are to be believes, it seems like Aston Villa are going to be the team to sign him. It’s a move that makes sense considering that their head coach Steve Bruce knows Snodgrass well from their time together at Hull, with the veteran boss helping him to tap into some of his best form when the Tigers got promoted via the play-offs during the 15/16 season. The likelihood of the Villains signing Snodgrass has been reflected by the bookies with them being priced at 4/9. While the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough are still named by the bookies, they are far off in the distance, being priced at 16/1 and 18/1 respectively.

Rumours that Snodgrass is set to move only increased after he was left out of the match day squad for Saturday’s loss to Manchester United, leading to the odds on Aston Villa being slashed even further.
