Hull City set to sign former Crystal Palace striker for the second time

Hull City are close to signing Frazier Campbell for the second time according to a report from the Daily Mail.

The 29-year-old striker is currently a free agent but most recently was at Crystal Palace, signing for them in 2014 and staying there until his eventual release this summer. However he struggled with injuries during his time at Selhurst Park and didn’t get much time on the pitch during his three years there, only making 43 appearances. He didn’t make much impact during this time either, only scoring five times.

But even though he hasn’t been at his best for a few years, Campbell only had to wait a short while to find a new club as he is very close to signing for Hull, a team he knows well from a spell there all the way back in 2007. He is currently undergoing a medical with the club and should that go well, he will be flown out to Portugal to join up with the rest of their squad at their training camp.

Campbell will hope to do as well this time around for Hull as he did when for first signed for them in 2007. This was a loan spell when he was contracted to Manchester United and he showed at the KCom Stadium while he was so highly regarded as a youngster. He scored 15 goals in 34 appearances as well as providing the assist for Dean Windass to score the historic goal against Bristol City in the Sky Bet Championship play-off final which got them promoted.
