Leading on from the previous point, the attacking style of the teams have led to some surprise results and a few games where smaller teams have given bigger teams a real scare. Teams like Costa Rica, Australia and Algeria have put in performances against sides much more fancied than them and they can already go home with a lot of pride.

Even when teams go a goal up or two teams have got back at them, contributing to the average of three goals a game and plenty of comebacks which shows the competitiveness of every single team. There are no easy games to be had in this World Cup (unless you play Cameroon, it seems) and that’s something that sounds like a dream to neutral fans.
