The World Cup has got off to an excellent start and that’s been driven by the attacking intent being shown by the majority of teams involved. Even in games that have looked on paper like they would be dull, cagey affairs have been exciting to watch because of the desire to win rather than the fear of losing which used to be the way of thinking.

It’s a great thing to see and it’s allowed the World Cup to be the spectacle it should be. Players are playing with the freedom to express themselves in an attacking sense and that can only be a good thing and it’s contributed to some fantastic matches already.
