On Friday morning, BBC Sport announced that 29-year-old Norwich City midfielder Jonny Howson has agreed a deal to join Championship rivals Middlesbrough amid interest from Leeds United for a fee believed to be in the region of £5 million.
Howson joined Norwich from Leeds United back in 2012 and over a five-year stay with the Championship club, has racked up 175 league appearances, scoring 22 goals and ensuring his status as a fan favourite around Carrow Road.
However, new manager Daniel Farke has been keen to strip down the wage bill since arriving at the club, and Howson has fallen victims to these cuts, as well as the likes of Seb Bassong, Michael Turner and John Ruddy, who were all released at the end of last season.
Farke will now be on the lookout for a replacement for the former Leeds United midfielder, and with money to spend, his options are wide. Here are 5 potential replacements for Howson at Norwich City.
