6 Potential candidates to be the next Brighton Manager

2. Paul Clement: Current odds 9/2

Paul Clement

Paul Clement is arguably not a house hold name yet, however Brighton fans would love to see him in charge. Clement’s CV is rather impressive; he has coached at Chelsea, Fulham and the Republic of Ireland U-21′s. He has also been the assistant head coach at Blackburn Rovers, Paris Saint-Germain prior to his current job as number two to Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid. He has also been mentored by Guus Hiddink. Clement was the leading favorite for the job until he distanced himself in an interview with TALKSPORT on Tuesday “Working for Real Madrid is a fantastic experience and I’m very happy here at the moment. I do have ambitions to make that step up to management at some point in the near future, and if the right club comes along at the right time, then I’d like to do it. But, at the moment, I’m just going to enjoy my time here.” Although Clement hasn’t ruled it out, his odds have moved further away from the favorites and it’s hard to see him giving up the chance working with players like Ronaldo and Bale.
