Championship Playoff Final Player Ratings

Player Ratings:

Derby:

Lee Grant: The Derby stopper had literally nothing to do throughout the match. QPR’s winner was their first shot on target and the goalkeeper was left extremely exposed when this did occur. There was nothing he could do. 6.

Andre Wisdom: As the Liverpool loanee has been all season, he was solid and reliable at right back. Provided width when needed and was always available as an out-ball. Will be missed. 7.

Richard Keogh: The Derby captain was outstanding as he has been all season but it will be his mistake that led to Zamora’s winner that he will be remembered for. Let’s hope it doesn’t affect him in any way. 6.

Jake Buxton: Buxton led by example in keeping Charlie Austin virtually anonymous all match. Will be unhappy about his role in the winner also. A warrior on the pitch. 7.

Craig Forsyth: As consistent as ever. Provided width and carried out both defensive and attacking duties with minimal fuss. Could have done better with the goal. 7.

George Thorne: The most talented player on the pitch. Passing, tackling and vision were almost perfection. Won the midfield battle for Derby. 8.

Jeff Hendrick: Not his best game but not his worst. Did his job but didn’t create a lot of chances for the more attacking players. A decent performance. 6.

Will Hughes: The enigmatic Hughes was not at his creative best but he was solid more than spectacular. Always calm under pressure. 7.

Johnny Russell: Arguably one of Derby’s better players. Dynamic and direct coming off his wing, he gave the Rangers back 4 nightmares. Unlucky to be bought down when through on goal. 8.

Jamie Ward: Worked extremely hard but didn’t really create a lot of chances. Outshone by Russell on the other flank. Will have better games. 6.

Chris Martin: Virtually anonymous in the match. Marshalled to perfection by Dunne. Hardly had a kick or won a header. Hit the post late on but other than that a bad day at the office. 6.

Subs:

Craig Bryson: Had little time to influence the match. Was assured in possession. 6.

Simon Dawkins: Missed a good chance and waste possession too often. 5.

Patrick Bamford: Virtually zero time on the pitch. 6.
