Special Award – The Farewell Awards – Torquay United and Bristol Rovers
It’ll come as incredibly small consolation to the fans of both teams but The72 would like to say farewell to two terrific clubs in Torquay United and Bristol Rovers. Torquay fought hard even when they looked certainties to go down but left themselves with too much to do to avoid falling out of the Football League.
Rovers looked safe after their six-pointer win against Wycombe last weekend but results going against them saw them relegated out of league football for the first time in their history. It’s always sad to see any club leave the Football League, hopefully it’s a short stay away for both of them and we wish them the best of luck in the Conference next season.
