5 Centre-Backs Sheffield Wednesday should be looking at

Sometimes you don’t need a long complicated introduction to an article, it can often just be a very simple definitive fact. Sheffield Wednesday need to sign new centre-backs.

And not just one, but probably a few. Last year there were three pure centre-backs on the books, Glenn Loovens, Tom Lees and Vincent Sasso, though Sam Hutchinson was very good when he filled in at the start of the season. And Loovens is unfortunately aging while Sasso looks like is going now that his contract is expired.

But there are some good options this summer and here are a few of them.

Grant Hanley (Newcastle United)

There were some reports that Sheffield Wednesday were interested in signing Hanley last summer but no one was going to be outbidded by Newcastle last year. But it seems like with him struggling to make an impact in his first season and the Magpies being promoted, he is on his way out of St James Park. Hanley was a rock in the Blackburn defence before his move and would be a great option for Wednesday.
