Wolves V Carlisle

It will be a party atmosphere at Molineux as Wolves have already been promoted. However the Cumbrians need to spoil the party if they have any hope of playing League One football next year and not joining already relegated Shrewsbury and Stevenage in the fourth tier. The situation Carlisle 2looks bleak, as in order to stay up, Carlisle will have to become only the third team in the league to beat Wolves at home. Also, 20th placed Crewe have a better goal difference, by 3, than Carlisle, so they will either have to beat Wolves by at least two goals and hope Crewe lose or hope that Crewe take a thumping at home to Preston and that they scrape past Wolves. Even if Carlisle do beat Wolves, if Crewe draw or Tranmere win, they are down. Carlisle’s recent form hasn’t been great, they have only won 1 in their last 6, and in their last three away games, they have conceded 10 goals while scoring only 2. Manager Graham Kavanagh earlier this week indicated, that they are planning for relegation and, judging on what has to happen on the final day in order of the Cumbrians to stay up, you have to agree with him.
