Retained List: Eames shows seven the door at Barnet

It has certainly been a busy week at Barnet. Rossi Eames was recently appointed their permanent manager, and now he has confirmed their retained list. There are plenty shown the door by the now full time manager at The Hive.

Three have been offered new deals, with one of those already agreeing to stay. Barnet finished last season in 15th position in Sky Bet League Two. Eames will be hoping to target a push towards the top half or even play-off spots next season.

Head coach Eames has offered contracts to three existing squad players. He awaits the response from two of those, but tricky winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce has agreed to remain with the club for a little while longer. The former Sheffield United man soon put pen to paper on an extension. Goalkeeper Kai McKenzie-Lyle has seen an option on his contract taken up by the club to extend that by an additional season as well.

Daniel Cheema and Sam Akinde were both out of contract at the end of the season and has subsequently been told that their stay will not go beyond this summer. Both are now free to depart and find themselves with new clubs. There are five more who fit under that category of ‘no longer with the club’. Those are James Pearson, Shaun Batt, Michael Gash, Bira Dembele and Tom Champion.

Released: James Pearson, Shaun Batt, Michael Gash, Bira Dembele, Tom Champion, Daniel Cheema & Sam Akinde.

Signed new contract: Jamal Campbell-Ryce.

Option taken to extend deal by a year: Kai McKenzie-Lyle.
