Aston Villa star on his way out

According to reports in the French media, Aston Villa left back Jordan Amavi is on his way out of Villa Park.

The Daily Express have reported that several media outlets in France are suggesting that following Villa’s failings in the Sky Bet Championship this season, Amavi is destined to leave the club.

The French full-back is one of few players to remain at the club following their relegation from the Premier League in 2015/16.

And the Midlands side were disappointing in their first ever season in the Sky Bet Championship, finishing 13th in the table.

Get French Football News have reported that Amavi has left his agent, as he seeks a move elsewhere.

The new agency that he has joined is reportedly big in the French market, increasing speculation that Amavi will be heading to Marseille, with whom he was linked with several times last summer.

Aston Villa also turned down a bid for the 23-year-old from Marseille in the January transfer window.

However, it’s not just the French Ligue 1 side interested in the left back.

Premier League giants Liverpool were linked with a move for Amavi last summer, and reports are suggesting that the five time European champions will reignite their interest during the upcoming transfer window.

The defender joined Villa for £9.5million in 2015. He featured 34 times for them in the Sky Bet Championship this season, picking up just one assist.
